Veterinary nurses

Athena has worked at Greensands since 2015, she previously worked in other first opinion clinics large hospitals and small clinics as well as out of hours. After 21 years of nursing she has stepped up to become the Practice Manager. With years of experience under her belt it gives her the knowledge and understanding to develop the practice alongside Katy Wragg. Together they run the practice and manage the staff.

If running of the practice didn’t keep her busy enough she has twin boys too. Out of work she enjoys country walks, spending time with her family and cooking.

Kayleigh obtained her degree in Veterinary Nursing from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013, and has work in first opinion veterinary practice ever since. She joined Greensands Vets in September 2021. Having previously worked in a busy clinic Kayleigh’s first love professionally is medicine and inpatient care. However, she also performs minor surgery such as stitch ups and small lump removals, in addition to her regular nursing roles. Kayleigh is also a qualified clinical coach, which enables her to train student veterinary nurses.

Outside of work Kayleigh enjoys walking in the countryside with her Irish Terrier Scrumpy and reading.

Roisin joined Greensands in November 2020 having previously worked in a busy hospital environment. She qualified as a veterinary nurse with her diploma 2016. Roisin enjoys the variety that nursing life brings, from monitoring anaesthesia to running consult clinics.

Outside of work she enjoys hiking, travelling and going to the cinema. Roisin is the proud owner of Gus-Gus (aka Goose) the 3 legged cat, who was acquired through work.

ISFM AdvCert Feline Behaviour ISFM Cert Feline Nursing

Heather has been working as a Registered Veterinary Nurse at Greensands Vets since 2015, and is our resident mad cat lady. She has undertaken the ISFM certificate in Feline Nursing (achieving Merit) and the ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour (achieving Distinction). She has a real passion for consults and of course cats. She is also one of our clinical coaches to enable her to train student nurses.

In her spare time she will often be found running, walking with her husband, cross stitching or attending church (not all at the same time!).

Kayleigh started at Greensands August 2021 as one of our Patient care assistants, but has taken up the challenge as our Student Veterinary Nurse. She is thrilled about starting her course and can’t wait to learn. Previously, she has worked in first opinion and referral practices, where she gained experience.

Out of work she enjoys going for walks in the countryside, crafting, bees and houseplants. Kayleigh and her partner, have a Nicaraguan dwarf boa constrictor, called Pablo.

Annie started work at Greensands in Aug 2021 as one of our Patient care assistants. She’s always busy normally helping the vets and nurses with all the patients out the back but you will also find her helping on reception a few times a week. From accounting to animals was a bit of a jump but she’s loving the new challenge.

In her spare time she loves to be with her mischievous but loveable German Wirehaired Pointer Hazel, or walking around the countryside and retaining her retired racehorse Paul.

Charlotte started at Greensands in November 2018 as a Patient care assistant, she loves her job and has learnt so many new skills after attending college. She is hoping to train a nurse in the future. She love rabbits, and has huge passion in their behaviour, health and welfare. She has four mini rex rabbits of her own.

When she’s not at work she enjoy spending time with her daughter and enjoying her family, educating people on rabbit welfare. She has even created a rabbit Instagram page where people can see videos and picture of the luxury life her bunnies have.
